THE Ogun State governor, Mr Dapo Abiodun, has said that contrary to media reports, the process of reconstructing and commercialising three federal roads, namely the Ikorodu-Ogijo-Sagamu, Epe-Ijebu-Ode and the Lagos-Ota-Abeokua roads, has not been completed.
This clarification was contained in a press statement signed by Mr Kunle Somorin, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Dapo Abiodun, and made available to newsmen in Abeokuta, the state capital, on Thursday.
According to him, the Ogun and Lagos State governments states plan to go into Public-Private Partnership for the construction and rehabilitation of the three roads, once the necessary approval has been granted by the Federal Government.

Governor Abiodun added that it was important to stress the fact that the public-private partnership with the private sector would only go into effect once the two states finalised the process of taking over the roads.
The governor said after his meeting with his Lagos State counterpart, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, where the decision was taken to take over some roads, they both jointly met with President Muhammadu Buhari to and explained their resolve to him.
He added that following a directive by the president, he and the Lagos State governor jointly wrote a letter which he personally handed over to the president.
He expressed optimism that the roads, when completed, will impact positively on the economies of Ogun and Lagos states.
