THE newly-crowned Ogudu Oshadi of Ogombo kingdom, Ogombo in Lagos State, Oba Abiodun Muslimi Ogunbo, has assured his subjects that his reign will ensure peace and stability in the community.
Oba Ogunbo, who became the first monarch of the community since it was founded in October 4, 1873, prior to his installation, had served as the Baale of the community.
Speaking during his installation ceremony, the monarch attributed the successful event to the prayers of all indigenes and residents of the community.
The traditional ruler also expressed the community’s gratitude to the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the state’s executive council for finding the community worthy of kingship and making its struggles in that direction a reality.
He assured the community of his resolve at ensuring peace and tranquility in the community, adding that his priority would be how to unite the people towards achieving the socio-economic development of the community.
“I want to boldly say that under my watch as the Oba of Ogombo kingdom, no effort will be spared to ensure that peace, tranquility and unity reign in the land,” the monarch said.
Congratulating the monarch and the people of the Ogombo community, the Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs, Kikelomo Sanyaolu, described the occasion as historic; as the event marked the first time the community would be having a traditional ruler.
“I urge the people of Ogombo to kindly support Oba Ogunbo. The new traditional ruler has all the necessary requirements of the state government and he was cleared by the Ministry of Justice for the position. So, we are calling for your support for the development and progress of the community,” Sanyaolu said.
