Obidient movement to launch formal membership registration soon — Tanko

Yunusa Tanko, the National Coordinator of the Obidient Movement Worldwide, announced plans for a formal registration process for both current and new members of the movement.

He made this revelation during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Monday.

Tanko explained that the movement intends to establish a proper structure to effectively identify its members and supporters.

He said, “Within the next few months, there will be an announcement for formal registration. We want to identify you where you are and what you do.”

Tanko, appointed by Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, emphasised that the Obidient Movement is focused on good governance, aligning with Obi’s advocacy.

The movement is inclusive, admitting people who believe in the ideals of fairness, equity, and a united Nigeria.

While many current members are from the Labour Party, Tanko stressed that the movement is broader than just the party.

Tanko also highlighted the movement’s vision to create a respected nation and engage citizens in meaningful ways.

In comparison to the Kwankwasiyya movement, Tanko mentioned that the Obidient movement has a larger following and reach.

He acknowledged the contributions of Labour Party members to the movement and hinted at the possibility of a membership fee as part of the formal registration process.
