Kano State deputy governor comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo has said that no single nation would be developed without skills acquisition, especially in terms of enhancing the aspect of monitory and provision of empowerment to its teeming youths.
He made the assertion on Friday when he received a report by the State Committee on Resuscitation of Skills Acquisition Institutes under the leadership of Professor Aminu Suleiman at his office
The deputy governor, however, expressed displeasure for abandoning the skills acquisition institutes initiated by Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso by the former administration
He disclosed that the tenure of Dr. Kwankwaso s administration has the intention of empowering the youths who are not opportune to have a degree or higher certificates,
He added that apart from Jigawa State government, Kano is the second that create the Informatics Institute in the country then, but unfortunately, all the mission and vision of this laudable project were abandoned during the 8 years of Ganduje’s Administration.
Comrade Gwarzo then assured the willingness of the present administration of Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf to revive all the skills acquisition Institutes in the state for the betterment of the teeming youths to become selves reliant.
“We are coming back after wasteful years of resources, we assured the people of the state His Excellency governor Abba Kabir will resuscitate the institutes,” he said.
He commended the committee for a job well done and commended the Commissioner for Higher Education, Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim Kofar-mata, for his foresight of set up the committee and accomplishing the assignment within the time frame.
Prof Suleiman however disclosed that after physical inspection of the facilities, the Committee was able to identify 17 number of vocational and entrepreneurship Training Institutes. Adding that, the committee has come up with its findings and recommendations for further action.
