The President, Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Mr. Babatunde Ruwase has disclosed that the country is yet to fully prepare itself for the Fourth Industrial Revolution, a development, he noted, might have impact negatively the nation’s technology drive.
The LCCI boss, therefore, called on the three tiers of government to prepare brace up and be ready to confront the challenges of such revolution.
Ruwase, who made this observation, in Lagos, over the weekend, at the launch of the 2019 ICTEL EXPO, tagged, Fourth Industrial Revolution:
The Nigerian Story, described the focus of this year’s event as apt, since the nation is too slow to come terms with far-reaching implications of the fourth industrial revolution.
“The Focus of this year’s EXPO is appropriate and timely, not just because it is contemporary and topical, but because Africa and indeed Nigeria seemed to be slow in coming to terms with the far-reaching implications of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

“Various governments, federal, state and local, must rise to the challenges of the increasing technological revolution, if our dream of a truly great nation must be realized,” he stated.
Ruwase added that the event would provide SMEs, unemployed, aspiring entrepreneurs the opportunity to be equipped with the necessary skill-sets for growth and development.
“This EXPO will provide the required inspiration which many Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) need in their quest for improved performance.
“Perhaps more importantly, the 2019 EXPO is providing aspiring entrepreneurs, Tech Start-Ups and thousands of unemployed and under employed Nigerians, yet another unique opportunity for an enriching learning experience, capacity building, mentoring, connecting with investors and employers of labour and listening to life-changing accounts from different stakeholders,” he added.
