President of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Nigeria and Worldwide, Pastor Segun Oladele has submitted that Nigeria has no excuse to be economically stagnated with the abundant natural resources she is endowed with.
Oladele made the submission while fielding questions from newsmen at the Outing service in honour of an Ibadan-based prophet and founder of the Christ Apostolic Church, Oke-Agbara, Prophet Michael Ojo Olowere a.k.a Baba Automatic at the main bowl of Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Ibadan at weekend.
He said the country is highly blessed but surprisingly its citizenry is suffering in the midst of plenty.
According to him, Nigeria is richly blessed. We should have no business with poverty and suffering because it is already a blessed country. However, the reverse is the case with happenings across the length and breadth of the country.
The cleric attributed the present economic stagnation that the nation is experiencing to insincerity and lack of righteousness on the parts of the leaders and the led called on the religious leaders to live up to their billing as the light and salt of the universe.
The growth of any nation is not determined by the strength of its armies and economic policies but by those who are saddled with the leadership responsibility.
“A one-time American president said, the prosperity of any nation does not depend on the fruitful of acres but on the men and women that cultivate the acres.
“Nigeria is blessed, we should have no business with suffering, and poverty because it is already a blessed country. Preachers, prophets and pastors are those who preach righteousness. They are the ones who tell their members to go out, to demonstrate that they are the light and salt of the world.
“However, when they act rightly, things will change. Our dream for a better country will be fulfilled. The preachers are the pillars behind every nation.”
Speaking on the late Olowere, the cleric said, “it is natural that we are to miss him very surely because his likes are very rare not only in the Christ Apostolic Church but the body of Christ generally especially nowadays that some people are seeing the ministry about wining and dining, about the affluence, about the acquisition of wealth and property.
“We are going to miss Baba Olowere for so many things. He was a humble man, sorely dedicated and committed to the things of God. He was not after pecuniary gains of this world.
“We will surely miss him as I have said earlier but we humble ourselves to the fact that one generation comes another goes. We believe that God is going to raise his likes more and more in the Christ Apostolic Church.
“Baba has immortalised himself. When you do the works of God, you don’t have to immortalize yourself because what you have done, the works that you have done will continue to speak after you have gone. Apostle Babalola did not immortalize himself. He died some years ago and yet we sing and pray about him today.
“Baba Olowere has immortalized himself. His name is written in gold as far as the history of the church is concerned. The Bible says righteousness exalts a nation.”
