He noted that while some are canvassing for restructuring, other say it is devolution of power, but the bottom line is that all section want to have a say in what they produce in their backyard.
This, Dickson said when he paid a courtesy visit to the Oba Rilwan Akiolu in his palace in Lagos State.
The Governor averred that he would sustain call for true federalism, stressing that the federal government as a big brother should allow states have a significant feel of what they produce in their soil and that would birth lasting peace to all the lingering issues.
He submitted that Nigeria would not break up, as reasonable Nigerians want the country to break up, stressing that our strength in our diversity.
Dickson noted that states should be the major beneficiaries of what they produce, while contribution should be made to the centre.
He called on political leaders in the country to always do what is right to promote unity, adding that been economical with the truth that would settle on conflicting issues would amount to ethnic bigotry.
Dickson lauded Oba Akiolu for backing restructuring, and for his useful support to the successive government in Lagos state and for making it a home for all, irrespective of ethnicity, religion and creed.
The Governor, however, called on the traditional class to support true federalism and devolution of power to component states, adding that in doing that the diverse ethnicity would be bonded and united.
Earlier, Oba Akiolu had lend his support for a restructured country on the path of true federalism that would bring lasting peace and progress in the country.
He reasoned that contrary to insinuation in some quarters that restructuring or devolution of power would break up the nation, rather it would reduce tension and give a sense of belonging to the federating unit and also bring stability to the nation.
To this end, Oba Akiolu also eulogises the Governor for his numerous development strides since took over the rein of power in the state.
