Minister of the Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has said that Nigeria is better off as one, united and indivisible country, just as he thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for standing by the the people of Benin Kingdom and giving them the needed support to reclaim what was stolen from them several decades ago.
Akpabio stated this at the fifth coronation anniversary of the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare 11, and the signing of Deed of Transfer of Cambridge and Aberdeen Bronzes, in Benin City, the Edo State capital, on Monday.
A statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Jackson Udom, quoted Akpabio as saying that “the event of today is a very significant one. I am particularly delighted because your brother from the Emirate of Kano, the Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero, is here, which signifies oneness and the unity of this country and the fact that Nigeria is better off as a united and indivisible country as signified by the two families.
“Let me also congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari, because this is happening in his time. This shows that his various diplomatic shuttles are yielding results. Economically, in terms of Direct Foreign Investors (DFI) into the country and the return of the stolen bronzes.”
