This was disclosed by Save the Children focal officer, Malam Kabiru Muhammed, while speaking during a debate organised by the Save the Children between the students of Bamaina Accademy and Kudai junior secondary school at Kudai in Dutse the state capital.
Malam Kabiru Muhammed explained that the Save the Children is working with some public schools to build the children skills on advocacy right from their childhood.
According to him “the aim of this project (Save the Children) is to work with school in order to build the children’s confidence in speaking before the leaders, parent and general public on an issue regarding them and general public.”
Muhammed maintained that “parts of the strategies to achieve this is by organising debates, quiz and dramas, also to invites leaders, parents and other stakeholders to witness and see the performance of their children.”
He noted that “this time around there is a debate between the students of Kudai and Bamaina Academy on bribery and corruption. This topic is deliberately selected to inform the children and listeners on the negative effects of bribery and corruption.”
