Former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole, has congratulated the people of Kogi State on seeing the new year 2024.
Kolawole, in his New Year message, said 2024 will bring about greater relief, positive changes, and improvement.
The former Speaker urged Kogites to key behind the incoming administration of Usman Ododo, saying the APC governor-elect will deliver the dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
He said that though 2023 was challenging, especially following the fuel subsidy removal, he promised that under Ododo, the people would experience greater relief.
Looking ahead to 2024, Kolawole foresees a period of extensive growth, formidable collaboration, and positive change for the state. The Ododo administration will certainly consolidate the key achievements of Governor Yahaya Bello in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and more economic empowerment initiatives.
Hon. Kolawole Matthew emphasised the need to unite behind the incoming government in achieving these goals for the collective benefit of the people of Kogi.
He also charged the people of Kogi State to continue to support the President Bola Tinubu-led administration and to align with its Renewed Hope Agenda, stating that the administration will benefit Kogi State through the projects and developments needed.
“I extend my best wishes to Kogites and urge them to embrace the spirit of unity as you embark on the journey of the New Year.
Let us bid farewell to the past year and embrace the opportunities ahead; let us reflect on the modest achievements of the past and envision a future filled with greater progress and prosperity,” he says.
“I am optimistic that the year 2024 will bring even more opportunities for growth and development. As we step into the New Year, he stated.
