The 47th Commissioner of Police, Oyo Command, Oluwole Adenola has assumed office with a plan to dislodge criminal elements in the 33 local government areas.
Adenola stated this at the maiden press briefing at the Command Headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, on Thursday.
He stated that the Police would continue to collaborate with sister agencies to ensure zero tolerance for crimes and criminalities.
The CP said, “The Oyo State Police Command, under my leadership, will remain unwavering in its commitment to protecting lives and property, upholding the principles of fairness, impartiality, and respect for diversity.
“We will work tirelessly to drastically reduce crime rates in the State, in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, ensuring that residents live without fear, confident that their safety and security are guaranteed.

“I have gained a deep insight of the unique security challenges affecting various part of our country, including Oyo State. These challenges encompass a range of issues, including kidnapping, armed robbery, herders/farmers clashes, illegal mining, chieftaincy disputes, land grabbing, and cult-related violence.
“Let me assure the people of Oyo State that, with your continuing support and cooperation, the State Police Command under my leadership will adopt a zero-tolerance approach to criminal activities.
“We will proactively identify, isolate, and bring to justice those who threaten the peace and security of our communities, ensuring that they face the full force of the law. In doing this, we shall be intentional, decisive and firm.
“As we begin this collaborative journey, I am delighted to introduce our Strategic Action Plan, a comprehensive roadmap for enhancing security across Oyo State. Our mission is to guarantee the safety and security of all citizens, uphold the rule of law, and create an environment conducive to growth and prosperity for everyone.
“These Action Plans are; Strict Discipline at all Policing levels: Discipline is the mainstay of effective law enforcement. We will maintain strict discipline at all policing levels, to ensure professional and respectful conduct.
“This includes adherence to the Code of Conduct, respect for hierarchy, and adherence to established protocols. Upholding the Rule of Law and Citizens’ Rights:
“Our policing strategy shall be built on a firm commitment to the rule of law and the protection of citizens’ rights. We will uphold justice, fairness, and dignity for all, fostering trust and confidence between law enforcement and the communities we serve.
“Strict Enforcement of all existing laws: We will enforce all laws impartially, without fear or favor, while respecting human rights and liberties. Our commitment to combating corruption and upholding fairness will remain steadfast.
“Enhancing Police Capacity through Training and Development: To tackle emerging challenges, we will prioritize continuous training and capacity building for our officers.
“Our programs will focus on enhancing community engagement, ethical re-orientation, conflict resolution, and investigative skills, empowering our personnel to serve with excellence, integrity, and professionalism.
