The exco dislodged the state executive members loyal to the Senator representing Ogun East in the National Assembly, Prince Buruji Kashamu, in a very peaceful manner.
Ogundele said that the new state officers were directed by the national leadership to occupy the party’s headquarters secretariat for it to commence work in earnest.
He explained that the national body had written letters to all security apparatus in the state, before such step could be taken in a non-violent manner.
The new chairman alleged that property estimated at about N5 million had been carted away by the sacked executive members, while hinting that legal action would be instituted against the sacked exco over the alleged vandalism.
“We have come to take over the state PDP secretariat, this is because there was a directive from the national secretariat to do so. We did that peacefully. Like I have said that at the appropriate time, we will take over the party secretariat from Bayo Dayo and his co-travellers.
“There was no resistance whatsoever and the exercise has been done without recourse to any form of violence or security breach. What we did was to take what rightly belonged to us.
“We have moved around the complex and we discovered that property belonging to the party secretariat, had either been vandalized or carted away. Computers and sound equipment, were among major property carted away by Bayo Dayo people”, the new chairman said.
However, the State Publicity Secretary of the party in the camp loyalists to Kashamu, under the chairmanship of Chief Bayo Dayo, Bolaji Adeniji, has vowed that the secretariat would be reclaimed back within the next 24-hours.
Adeniji described the development as illegal by a dissident group, denying any act of vandalism as alleged by Ogundele.
He insisted that the tenure of the Dayo led executive would expire in 2020, saying they would return to the secretariat in the next 48-hours
But reacting on behalf of Bayo Dayo group, the publicity secretary of the sacked exco, Bolaji Adeniji, said they would return to the secretariat within the next 48 hours.
