Chairman, North East Development Commission (NEDC), Maj. Gen. Paul Tarfa, has charged students of Command Science Secondary School Boys, Auno, Borno State to embrace selfless service, patriotism and a high sense of self discipline.
Maj-Gen. Paul Tarfa made the call in Maiduguri on Wednesday, while addressing students of the school who are under the sponsorship of NEDC, most of whom are orphans who lost their parents during Boko Haram crisis in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa States.
He assured the students that the commission will continue to work for the common good of the people of the North-East region by executing developmental projects.
According to Tarfa, the NEDC has a duty to revive the lost glory of the region crippled by the Boko Haram insurgency, especially in the area of infrastructure, education, industry health and other regional development projects.
“it is a collective responsibility that cannot be achieved without the support and conscious participation of patriotic citizens.
“I want to remind you that discipline, commitment, dedication and patriotism as unambiguous paths to success in life, that’s why we remain committed to developing the North-Eastern states in the area of agriculture, education, health and the rest. We, therefore, solicit for cooperation, prayer, and goodwill” the NEDC boss added.
He also charged them to continue to strive hard in order to be symbols of pride to their families and good ambassadors of the NEDC.
Mai-Gen. Tarfa who is a former Commandant Nigerian Army Depot, also commended the military personnel for providing adequate professional training to the young students soldiers.
