NDE trains 50 on agric extension in Niger

National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has commenced the 2021 Agricultural Extension Training for 50 unemployed persons by the Rural Employment Promotion Department (REP) of the agency in Niger State.

The NDE Director-General, Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo, on Monday in Minna said that the federal government was poised at prioritizing agriculture in the country hence the need for the programme which has the potential for job creation was drawn from the 25 local government areas of the state.

He explained that as a social intervention with the objective of increasing food production, improved farming methods, reducing rural-urban migration by graduates and produce agric extension office as well as to stimulate rural economy among others.

Represented by the state Co-ordinator, Alhaji Abdulmalik Liman, Fikpo who urged beneficiaries to take the training will all seriousness, assured them of windows of opportunities in NDE after their training.
