The leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Kebbi State will invite heads of private institutions for not complying with the strike action notice served to them.
The Vice Chairman of the NLC in the state, Comrade Kilani Abdulwaliyu, who made this known while briefing newsmen in Birnin Kebbi over the strike action, stated that the Labour Union has in its State Executive Council meeting resolved to invite the leadership of the private institutions for discussion.
According to him, after the meeting with the leadership of the private institutions, the NLC will enforce total compliance as directed by the national body of the union.Â
He said the strike action was a success as there was total compliance from the civil servants which led to the closure of all government offices with the electricity supply to the state also cut off.Â
Comrade Abdulwaliyu solicited the support of the media, saying they are also part of the strike action to ensure wider publicity for the world to know what the Nigerian citizens are going through.
Journalists who monitored workers in Birnin-Kebbi the capital witnessed complete compliance as government offices, both state and federal, were locked down and workers went back home while some were seen loitering around in their premises discussing the issues.
