Former Sports and Special Duties Minister and aspirant to the office of the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Professor Taoheed Adedoja on Monday commended the decision of the Party’s Governors Forum to allow all the Eight aspirants in the race to participate in the December 9th Elective National Convention of the Party.
Speaking with the Nigerian Tribune in Abuja yesterday on out come of the Aspirants with the Party’s Governor in Enugu, Enugu State on Sunday, Adedoja stated that the decision would further deepened democracy in the Party ahead of the 2019 General elections.
He said to do otherwise would have been amounted to imposition which would have done a serious damage to the image of the Party.
According to him,” we are very happy with the decision of our Governors to allow all of us the Aspirants to go to the Convention to test our popularity or otherwise before the delegates
“It was a laudable decision, this will further boost the image of our Party ahead of theb2019 general elections, it shows clearly that the Era of imposition and impunity have gone for ever in our Party
” The Governors allowed each and every one of to address them on what we have in stock for the Party , I mean our programmes and agenda for the Party and they gave all us clean bill of health to go and contest at the forthcoming National Convention
The aspirants Chief Bode George, Professor Wale Oladipo, Professor Tunde Adeniran, Prince Uche Secondus, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and Senator Rashidi Ladoja.
The Aspirant debunked the speculations making the round that the meeeting was deadlocked, said that it was a family meeting conducted under a peaceful atmosphere under the Chairmanship of the Ekiti State Governor, Chief Ayodele Fayose, the Chairman of the Forum.
