The Ogun State Governor-elect, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has described his victory at the March 9th polls as divine despite various obstacles in his governorship race.
He noted that humility, resilience and determination contributed to his election as the successor of Senator Ibikunle Amosun which he said was an indication that “God is greater than man”.
He stated this while answering questions from journalists at his Iperu-Remo home, on Monday, shortly after his “Victory Speech”, that he had learnt a lot of lessons that would be eternally part of him during the race to Oke-Mosan office of the Governor.
“Though the race was tough, the challenge tasking, the odds enormous and the obstacles were many, but to God be all the glory for this divine victory which is for all the good people of Ogun.
“Let me tell you; a lot of lessons have been learnt from this experience. It’s indeed been a journey and a lot more than that. But I’ve since learnt that if you remain humble if you remain resilient if you have the fortitude and you keep your hope alive, you can overcome any mountain. This is yet another opportunity for God to show that He indeed is greater than man,” he added.
Abiodun flanked by leaders of the party appreciated the people of the state for voting his party and its candidates to power and promised that his administration would run an all-inclusive government.

He, however, extended his hands of fellowship to other contenders to the race saying that campaigns and elections are over.
The governor-elect said, “campaigns and elections are now over and it is time to start harnessing the huge God-given human and natural resources of our state, for rapid development for the overall interest and benefits of our people.
“To my fellow contestants, we have all participated to the best of our abilities in vying for the exalted office, which can only be occupied by one person at a time.
“I, therefore, most humbly, and unconditionally, extend my hand of fellowship to my compatriots from other parties, and indeed, all those who contested with me at the APC primaries for the party ticket, which I won. Like our slogan during the campaign, ‘Igbega Ipinle Ogun, ajose gbogbo wa ni’. The development of Ogun State is the collective duty of all. With the love of Ogun in our hearts, we all have something to offer and our government will be more than willing to take the benefits of shared knowledge and experience.”
