The mobile telecommunications giant MTN has blamed the recent service outage experienced by its subscribers on damaged cables.
Recall that on 28th February, subscribers of MTN could not make calls nor access the internet for hours. This development did not go down well with the mobile network subscribers as they expressed disappointment.
In a statement on MTN’s official Facebook Account, while apologising for the service outage, MTN said they experienced multiple fibre cuts which affected voice and data services.
“Dear Customer you have been experiencing challenges connecting to the network due to a major service outage caused by multiple fibre cuts, affecting voice and data services.
“Our engineers are working hard to resolve with services gradually being restored in some areas.
