…as Police arrest 25 suspects for criminal conspiracy, inciting public disturbance, others
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the Kwadon Police Division of Gombe State Police Command, CSP Adamu Alhaji Idi has been attacked by a mob, inflicting injuries on him in the process.
He is currently at the Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH), Gombe where he is said to be receiving medical attention to save his life.
The Police Command therefore strongly condemned the violent attack by mob on the Officer and informed the general public of the ongoing efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The Command PPRO, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, in a statement on Wednesday, stated that, “On 20th May 2025 at about 0900hrs, the Officer-in-Charge of Operation Hattara received a distress call from the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Department of Operations, Gombe State Command, reporting a brutal assault on CSP Adamu Alhaji Idi, the Divisional Police Officer of Kwadon Division.”
He narrated that, “The Officer was attacked by a group of notorious Kalare miscreants in Kwadon town and sustained multiple degrees of injuries, including a deep wound to his forehead.
“The victim was immediately rushed to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe for urgent medical attention and is currently receiving treatment.”
In swift response to the emergency, a team of Patrol Officers from Operation Hattara, led by CSP Ali Madaki, Officer Incharge of Operation Hattara, and other Police Officers was deployed to the scene.

Following coordinated tactical operations, Twenty-five suspects, all residents of Kwadon town were apprehended in connection with the incident.
Those arrested include: Dayabu Abubakar, 29 years, Mohd Idris, 22 years, Mohd Kabiru, 25 years, Badamasi Hamisu, 29 years, Mohd Auwal, 19 years, Sani Mohd, 19 years, Auwal Dauda, 30 years and Zaidu Sulaiman, 35 years.
Others are: Shehu Mohd, 58 years, Sunusi Mohd, 25 years, Sani Adamu, 45 years, Hassan Ahmad Bashar, 65 years, Hassan Mohd, 45 years, Abubakar Umar, 22 years, Adamu Adamu, 30 years and Mohd Hashimu, 19 years. Absolon Larry, 18 years, Umar Abubakar, 48 years, Aliyu Mohd Gambo, 22 years, Hassan Shehu, 22 years, Usman Ahmad, 59 years, Abdulrahman Musa, 23 years, Mujahideen Musa, 20 years, Auwal Baffa, 22 years and Sulaiman Yahaya, 21 years.
All the suspects are currently in Police custody undergoing discreet investigation and upon completion of the investigation, they will be charged to court accordingly.
As part of the Command’s commitment to restoring calm and ensuring accountability, the Commissioner of Police, CP Bello Yahaya, alongside the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, visited the scene in Kwadon town.
Their visit was aimed at assessing the situation firsthand, commiserating with officers on ground, and assuring the community of the Command’s resolve to tackle criminality without compromise.
The Command reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards violence against security personnel and warns all criminally minded individuals and groups to desist from such heinous acts.
It stated that the Police will not hesitate to bring the full weight of the law upon anyone found guilty of disrupting public peace or endangering the lives of law enforcement officers.
The Commissioner urged residents of Kwadon and the state at large to remain law-abiding and cooperate with the police in the ongoing investigation.
