Military operatives arrest three suspected kidnappers in Ondo

MEN of the 32 Artillery Brigade at Owena Barracks in Akure, the Ondo State capital, have apprehended three men suspected to be kidnappers at various point in the state.

The arrest of the three suspects followed a special operation carried out by the men of the brigade.

It was gathered that the three suspects were arrested after a five-day clearance operation around some flashpoints in around the state.

The flash point included Ajowa, Akunu, Ise, Auga, Isua and Ikakumo-Akoko forests in the Ondo North senatorial districts of the state.

It was gathered that some camps suspected to be kidnappers’ den were destroyed with some abductors were also arrested while some of the operators of the camps ran away

According to the source, the suspects who confessed to being kidnappers and responsible for several kidnappings.

He, however, said the suspects had been handed to appropriate security agencies for further investigation and prosecution.

Confirming the development, the Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, Major Ojo Adenegan, said the men were arrested during a special operation by his men.

Adenekan, however, urged a member of the public to provide useful information that would assist in arresting other collaborators on the run.
