A 32-years-old man, Mr Marcus Ochewebinor, was on Wednesday arraigned before an Asaba Magistrates’ Court for allegedly neglecting police order to assist in arresting a kidnap suspect.
The Prosecutor, Mr Dibia Onyemechi, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Oct. 29, 2018, at Sapele.
Onyemechi alleged that the accused refused to assist the police in arresting one Mr Lucky Madu, a kidnap suspect.

He said that the offence contravened Sections 201 of the Criminal Code Cap C21 Vol. 1, Laws of Delta State, 2006.
The accused pleaded not guilty and was granted bail in the sum of N50,000 with a surety in like sum.
In granting bail, the Magistrate, Mrs Edith Anumodu, said that the surety must be resident in Asaba and must be a relative of the accused.
She said that the surety must also own a landed property and provide two passport photographs to the court.
She adjourned the case until Jan. 22 for definite hearing.
