ONE Tayo Ogunmola, 52, has been arrested for attempting to dupe the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama.
The suspect, according to a statement by the Ogun State Police Command, Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, was said to have pretended to be a herbalist and that he mistakenly sent a recharge card pin to Makama’s mobile line and pleaded that the same pin is sent back to him.
The CP was said to have played along with the suspected fraudster having being familiar with their antics sent out men of the Intelligence Response Team to track the man for eventual arrest.
He (Ogunmola) was said to have presented himself as a Deputy Inspector General of Police, who was ready to assist Makama if he was ready to give him money.

Unfortunately, the suspect never knew he had been interacting with a serving Commissioner of Police while he was arrested at Ologbogbo area of Ota in the State, having being trailed by crack detectives.
The suspect was said to have confessed to being a fraudster who had at different times swindled unsuspected members of the public of several millions of naira.
CP Makama according to Oyeyemi had directed that Ogunmola be investigated and subsequently arraigned before the court of competent jurisdiction.
The Police boss also directed that the suspect accomplice(s) be arrested.
