Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, has hailed the Supreme Court ruling on the leadership issues in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The Supreme Court of Nigeria, in a unanimous decision Wednesday morning, declared Senator Ahmed Makarfi winner of the PDP leadership issues and the National Caretaker Committee as authentic.
Speaker Oborevwori in a Press Statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Dennis Otu, described the judgment as victory for democracy.
He said, “I am so excited about the Supreme Court judgement of today. This victory is not only for PDP family, but victory for Democracy and rule of law in our country.”
“Democracy has been on trial since the beginning of the PDP leadership issues. This victory will make the PDP family more united, and strengthen Democracy in the country.”
The Speaker added that, “I must say that this judgement is a welcome development, this judgement has finally restored Democracy to our country. I salute the great PDP family.”
