Live within your means, nothing shameful about it —Timi Dakolo

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Timi Dakolo has some piece of advice for people who are not contented with what they have at the moment, not proud about their current stage in life and feel it is shameful to live within their means.

Dakolo in a tweet via his verified Twitter page over the week admonished his followers to live within their means and that there is nothing shameful about it. “Live within your means, there is nothing shameful about it. That is what you can work with for now,” the singer tweeted.

His tweet came up as young people nowadays believe in the mantra ‘Fake it till you make it’, hence, trying to live beyond their means. Many are not also proud of their current stage in life and will go the extra mile to maintain a ‘fake life’.

The 40-year-old’s tweet, however, generated a lot of reactions online from Nigerian youth. Majority of those who reacted to this post agreed with his statement as some also still castigated his position on this.
