T HERE are many ways through which the masses of this nation are being cheated by either our constitution or the politicians.
If not, how do we explain a situation whereby a person who has worked in the public service or a multinational company retired and received gratuities and even pensions, now joins politics and perhaps becomes a governor for eight years?
After eight years of ruining the economy of the state aground through corruption in many ways, including stealing, the person will also be entitled to a severance package and salary for life.
This same person could proceed to the National Assembly, serve for a few years and be entitled to a severance package and pensions.
Who designed the contraption called the Nigerian constitution? Some governors have even gone to the extent of coercing their state assembly members to pass a bill to build them mansions in two choice cities after their tenure.
Who will save us from these oppressors? They should remember the grave and that what is sauce for the goose is also sauce for the gander.
At a time when workers are owed many months or years of salaries, the oppressive regime of payments should be stopped outright.
