Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has hinted that lists of all its candidates for the chairmanship, vice chairmanship and councillorship posts for the local government poll slated to hold next month in the state will be made public, on Tuesday.
The election into the various offices in the 30 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) is scheduled to hold in July across Lagos State.
Chairman of the party, Engnr. Deji Doherty, said this in a notice to party members and most especially all candidates for the forthcoming council polls, while intimating them of the launch of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) Strategic Plan for the year 2021 to 2025.
Doherty enjoined all concerned, in view of the launch “to forward to the office of the State Chairman, questions or any kind of clarifications that might be deemed as necessary/important as the council elections approach.
“In the same vein, the list of all approved polling units and collation centres would be made available to all the LGA Chairmen by Thursday 10th of June 2021. While the list of all candidates into the various offices in the 57 LGAs/LCDAs would be announced on Tuesday 8th of June 2021,” the party boss said.
Speaking further, Doherty opined that the exercise was also expected to be “a clarion call to all and sundry, that the time was now for the commencement of the compilation of the lists of street captains, agents, canvassers and collation officers necessitated for the forthcoming election day operations.”
