The Executive Chairman, Itire-Ikate LCDA, Hon Ahmed Olanrewaju Apatira has reaffirmed its administration’s commitment to improved healthcare delivery and also prioritise the upgrade of healthcare facilities in the council area.
The council Chairman made the pledge while receiving the permanent secretary and management team of Health District IV who paid him a working visit in his office at the council secretariat, Airways road. Ijesha, Lagos.
Apatira said his administration had made giant strides in delivering quality services, which were evident across the health facilities in the council area
He said a healthy population is the greatest asset to any society, adding that his administration has demonstrated commitment by doing everything to ensure that the strategic health facilities are brought back to life.
The council boss who stated that the government has invested huge sums of money to fix the structures, servicing and maintenance of health facilities in the council area to keep them functional, assured that never again shall government hospitals be left to deteriorate.
In his address, the Permanent Secretary, Health District IV, Dr. Abimbola Bowale commended the council boss for the facelift given to the health facilities across the council area, adding that it has helped to improve quality healthcare services delivery to the people.
“The investment in the health sector is pretty impressive and we are quite impressed with the potential of the facilities dealing with maternal and child care challenges,”
Bowale further sought the co-operation of the council boss for the construction of a new comprehensive prototype health facility in the council area and when fully operational, will discharge their mandate to the people of the council area.
