Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, has restated commitment to total defeat of Boko Haram insurgents, bandits and other criminals disturbing the peace and security of the nation.
Lagbaja stated this while delivering his Easter message to the frontline troops of Operation Hadin Kai, North-East, at Maimalari cantonment in Maiduguri on Monday.
He explained that the military will continue to push towards the final onslaught on the adversaries troubling the nation.
According to him, the Nigerian Army remains committed, determined, and focused on ensuring the total defeat of insurgents, marauding bandits, and all other forms of external and internal aggressions disturbing the peace of the country.
“ln line with my Command Philosophy, ‘To transform the Nigerian Army into a Well-trained, Equipped and Highly Motivated Force Towards Achieving our Constitutional Responsibilities’, I have ensured the implementation of quality training and equipping toward combating the myriads of security threats confronting the nation.
“Accordingly, under my leadership, the Nigerian Army has continued to record tremendous successes in various operations at home and abroad,” said COAS.

While praying for the nation, he urged soldiers to continue to espouse the values and virtues of love, peace, and sacrifice in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.
Also speaking, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Div. Sector 1 Operations Hadin Kai, Brig.-Gen. Abubakar Haruna, commended the professional contributions of other security agencies in the fight against Boko Haram insurgents in the NorthEast.
“Let us appreciate the professional contributions of Nigerian Police, Department of State Services, Nigerian custom services, Nigerian Civil Defence, Correction service which are all tailored towards the attainment of the end state of Operation Hadin Kai.
“We remain grateful and appreciative for your presence in this occasion, our deepest gratitude goes to the President Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic, for his strategic guidance to the Armed forces.”
