The Zamfara state branch of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has revealed that the affiliated unions in the state are ready for the nationwide strike action, saying that the grievances are too much.
Addressing newsmen on Tuesday at the NLC secretariat in Gusau, the Zamfara state labour chairman, Comrade Sani Haliru Kurya, lamented that the current situation has inflicted a lot of injury on the citizens of the country.
According to him, considering the hardships Nigerians have found themselves in, the labour union has no option but to voice their unhappiness to the concerned authorities.
“Nigerians are facing hardship which the labour union is unhappy with, things are becoming worse, and our grievances are too much.”
Nigerian Tribune gathered that the Zamfara state NLC had summoned a meeting on Tuesday with other affiliated unions following directives on the nationwide strike, which they vowed to comply with.
The NLC Chairman, Haliru Kurya, called on unions and citizens to support the strike action and urged people to exhibit maturity, saying “There is nothing wrong with the struggle.”
