Kogi: Police present N39m to families of 25 deceased officers

The Commissioner of Police of the Kogi State Police Command, CP Bethrand Onuoha, has presented cheques worth over N39 million to 25 families on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

While presenting the cheques, the CP disclosed that the gesture was part of the Group Life Assurance and Group Personal Accident Insurance Schemes, which aim to improve the welfare of the families of deceased Police Officers and support Police Officers who become accident victims while carrying out their duties. Additionally, the scheme aims to encourage other Officers in active service to be diligent.

The CP further stated that the Nigeria Police Force recognizes the sacrifices made by the deceased Officers as well as those who are accident victims to secure the Nation. He urged the beneficiaries not to misuse the money but to make judicious use of it for the betterment of their families.

The beneficiaries appreciated the IGP for the gesture and promised to make use of the money for the benefit of their families.
