Kogi: Police arrest retired ACP, six others over illegal possession of firearms

The suspects

AHEAD November 16 governorship election, a retired Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Suleiman Ejeh Abutu has been arrested alongside six others by police operatives from the Force Headquarters Abuja for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

Abutu is the chairman of the security committee for Musa/Aro campaign organisation in Dekina local government council of Kogi State.

Tribune Online learnt that pump action guns, AK-47 rifles and pistols have been recovered from the suspects.

Tribune Online also learnt that the suspects have made useful confessional statements to the police.

The Kogi State Commissioner of Police CP Hakeem Busari, when contacted, said the arrest was made by Police from Headquarter Abuja and that the suspects have been moved to Abuja for further interrogations.
