The Umomi Progressive Development Association has commended Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his unwavering commitment to grassroots development.
The commendation was made during the commissioning of a newly constructed laboratory and clinic in Umomi, Ofu Local Government Area. The projects were executed by the Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency (KGCSDA) with funding from the state government.
Speaking at the event, the National President of the Umomi Progressive Development Association, Mr. Atogbe Tijani, expressed profound gratitude to Governor Ododo for prioritizing community-driven initiatives. He praised the administration’s dedication to improving the welfare of rural dwellers and fostering statewide development.
Mr. Tijani also acknowledged the efforts of KGCSDA’s General Manager, Chief Momoh Dauda, whose dedication and hard work were evident in the high quality of the completed projects. He noted that the new facilities would significantly enhance healthcare services and educational support in the community.
However, while appreciating the government’s efforts, the community also appealed for further intervention, particularly in the renovation of classrooms and the provision of clean water for both the school and the newly established clinic.
Representing the governor at the commissioning, the Special Adviser on Public Relations, Mr. Muhammad Onogu, reaffirmed Governor Ododo’s commitment to sustainable community development. He emphasized that the newly commissioned projects would serve as a lasting testament to the administration’s impact in Umomi and urged residents to safeguard the facilities for long-term benefits.

Mr. Onogu further encouraged the community to remain supportive of the administration, assuring them that sustained engagement with the government would attract more developmental initiatives.
In his remarks, Chief Momoh Dauda reiterated the governor’s dedication to creating a conducive environment for learning and healthcare in rural areas. He urged students to take their education seriously, emphasizing its role in shaping their future.
On the community’s request for classroom renovations and improved water supply, Chief Dauda assured residents that their concerns would be assessed and addressed in due time.
The laboratory and clinic projects were implemented under the Nigeria Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (N-CARES) Programme, marking Governor Ododo’s first year in office with tangible grassroots achievements.
The event concluded with residents expressing appreciation and optimism about continued collaboration between the state government and local communities.
