Following the unexpected inferno at the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) at the Birnin-Kebbi substation last weekend, the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, and the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Illiyasu Bashar, have expressed sympathy with the Company’s Authorities over the dastardly incident that caused many people to wonder.
The State governor, who cut short his visits to overseas Countries and rushed back home on Saturday evening, called for the establishment of a commission to investigate the immediate and remote causes of the inferno, directing that any staff found wanting be brought to book.
Earlier in his Palace, the Emir of Gwandu, Illiyasu Bashar, while receiving the Managing Director of TCN, Alhaji Sule Abdulazeez, who paid him a courtesy visit, called in the TCN boss to ensure that speedy steps are taken to ensure restoration of power supply to the three States of Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara, which have been thrown into Darkness as a result of the ugly incident.
The Royal father reiterated that cases of fire incidents have been quite numerous in recent times all over the world, pointing out that he was personally happy for the prompt response by the management of the Company, reiterating further that the TCN is doing its best, noting that light is very important in human endeavours, as he prayed for light and no to darkness.
In his speech, the TCN boss, Sule Abdulazeez, told the Government and the Emir that TCN would do all that was possible to complete the process of restoring power to all the affected States and the Bigger Republic within the next two weeks.
He told the Governor and the Emir that the Transformers razed down by fire were the 90MVA, which is 330 kV/132 kV, and the 60MVA (132 kV/33 kV), valued at $4 million, respectively.
