The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Senate President, Comrade Henry Okunomo, has raised an alarm that the claim of CNG buses being handed over to NANS is untrue.
According to him, “Despite claims of distribution, no buses have been handed over to our leadership.”
In a statement signed on Tuesday by Comrade Okunomo, a copy of which was made available to the press in Kano, NANS demanded immediate clarification on the CNG bus distribution to clear up any misconceptions.
“We urge President Tinubu to caution agents within his government who are causing division among students,” Okunomo said.
He further stated that the current NANS leadership, allegedly led by Comrade Pedro Chibuzo Obi, resulted from a seamless transition from the previous administration under Comrade Usman Barambu.
“We emphasize that President Tinubu’s ascension to office was facilitated by a peaceful transfer of power; hence, we expect similar respect for our organizational structure,” he added.

The body then warned that some individuals within President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s circle were allegedly causing divisions among students and urged them to cease their actions.
NANS emphasized the importance of a proper handover of the buses to its leadership to ensure seamless coordination.
Okunomo stated, “We caution against false allegations, as no single bus has been received from the Federal Government.”
“We hope this false handover of buses won’t lead to a crisis, considering the country’s already volatile state,” he concluded.
