KANO State governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has sent names of 19 commissioner-nominees to the state House of Assembly for screening and approval.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Honourable Yusuf Falgore, disclosed this on Tuesday while reading the governor’s letter of request during plenary.
The commissioner nominees were urged to show up at the assembly complex on Wednesday (today) at 10:00 a.m. for screening.
The commissioner-nominees include: Aminu Abdulsalam; Umar Doguwa; Ali Haruna Makoda; Abubakar Labaran Yusuf; Danjuma Mahmoud; Musa Shanono; Abbas Sani Abbas; Aisha Saji; Dr Marwan Ahmad; Muhd Diggol; Adamu Aliyu Kibiya and Dr Yusuf Kofar Mata.
Meanwhile, the governor has approved the appointment of his alleged nephew, Alhaji Ahmad Yusuf, as the Executive Secretary of the State History and Culture Bureau.
In a swift reaction, the spokesman to the governor, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, said that Alhaji Ahmad Yusuf is not related to the governor, but he is known as Alhaji Ahmad Abba Yusuf, a biological son to Alhaji Abba Yusuf, the current secretary to Kano State Emirate Council.
