Operatives of Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) have been charged to distinguish themselves in virtues and shun vices in the overall interest of lifting the brigade to a more reputable and enviable standard in line with the demand of Lagos State governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, that things can no longer be done the usual way.
The Marshal General, KAI, CSP Jimoh Amusat Bola (rtd), gave the charge at the decoration of KAI personnel that were promoted to higher cadre, having passed the 2016 promotional exercise conducted by the Lagos State Civil Service Commission (LASCSC).
One hundred and fifteen newly promoted officers on Grade Level 06 of the KAI Brigade were decorated with their new rank of Superintendent of KAI Grade Level 07 last Saturday at its headquarters, Oshodi, Lagos.
CSP Bola (rtd), while addressing the newly-promoted officers, said that the brigade appreciated the gesture as it would be the first time in the history of KAI Brigade that officers in the lower cadre would be promoted to the senior cadre since its inception in 2003.
“I use this medium to commend the governor of Lagos State for his commitment to, and unflinching support for the development of KAI Brigade.
He advised the newly-promoted officer to crave for more career enhancement, urging them to strive to acquire in-depth knowledge as it would be a powerful asset and life-inspiring one.
It will be recalled the KAI Brigade was established in 2003 through Lagos State Gazette No. 5. Vol. 34 of 8th March, 2001 signed by the then Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a division of the State Ministry of the Environment headed by then Commissioner Tunji Bello, currently the Secretary to the Lagos State Government.
The operatives of the Brigade were absorbed into the Civil Service on 2nd January, 2014 under the Leadership of the immediate past governor, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) now, Minister for Power, Works and Housing.
