FEUDING Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr Ibe Kachikwu and Group General Manager (GMD) of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Maikanti Baru, were at the presidential villa, Abuja for separate meetings with President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, respectively on Friday.
Kachikwu was the first to arrive and met alone with the president.
He did not speak at the meeting when approached later by State House correspondents after.
Baru later showed up at the office of the Vice President but it was not clear whether they met in a formal meeting.
The GMD had earlier observed Jumaat prayers at the State House Mosque.

However, Kachikwu’s meeting was ostensibly over the minister’s protest to the president on the handing of NNPC’s Affairs by the GMD.
Unable to meet one on one with the president, the minister had penned a leaked letter to Buhari outlining his grouses over being sidelined along with the NNPC board by the GMD in the major decision-making process of the NNPC.
