Delta Born Philanthropist and Businessman Hon (Chief) Uba Michael (Chairman and Founder of Ubacle Group ) has been listed among the ‘100 Most Notable Peace Icons in Africa’.
Uba, Davido, AY, Rema, Akon, Samuel Eto, and others were named in the ‘Peacebuilding row call’ at the unveiling news conference by the organisers recently in Abuja.
Other Nigerians who made the list include former President Goodluck Jonathan, former Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo; Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar and President of the African Development Bank, Akinwumi Adesina.
The Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, Cardinal John Onaiyekan, Bishop Matthew Hassan-Kukah and renowned tele-evangelist Pastor Chris Oyakhilome also made the list amongst others.
Speaking on the development, Uba described it as a call to duty and an indication that he has a lot more left to do in engendering relative peace and development on the continent.
He said; “I’ve continued to be a peace advocate and I’ve championed the vanguard to educate young entrepreneurs.
“I believe in building social and peaceful environments geared towards socio-economic development and investment.”
