The only thing still standing in the way to the complete recovery of ailing Yoruba actor, Babatunde Omidina popularly known as Baba Suwe, and his return to the screen is a recommended medical trip to United States.
Otherwise, the veteran actor, according to a recent update by co-actor, Yomi Fabiyi, is hale and hearty and responding well to treatment as an outpatient of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH).
The comic actor can now walk without the stick or on a wheelchair and feels less pain. However, he was said to need further treatment abroad.
“Baba Suwe is recovering well as he keeps utilising LUTH facility as an outpatient,” Yomi Fabiyi posted on his Instagram page during the week, “while he edges very close to his trip abroad to complete his treatment”.

Baba Suwe, who had lapsed into severe diabetic complications among other medical conditions and was admitted at LUTH at the behest of the Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole, was discharged last week from the apex hospital.
Donations and contributions have been made from well-meaning Nigerians including the Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, who through the office of the Youth Organisation Secretary, APC Lagos, made a donation of N1m to the actor, the founder of the Love of Christ Generation Church, C&S (Iya Adura), London, Reverend Esther Ajayi, who made a financial pledge of N10m and his fans and co-workers who have also contributed to the medical treatment and trip of the celebrated actor.
And as time of the essence to any efficient medical treatment, some of his fans are worried about the delay in the proposed medical trip to the US.
“I shall loose no time to intimate you on this and his arrival in the United States. By the grace of the Almighty and your various aids, Baba Suwe will come to full wellness and return to the screen to continue what he knows how to do best in a very short period,” he said.
“The veteran actor cum comedian will personally register his full appreciation as at when due. Accept his family and TAMPAN’s gratitude for every support all the way. You all are life savers and many God reward each and every person abundantly,” Fabiyi said.
