The 2022 Batch ‘A’ Stream1 corps members with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Abia have been urged to integrate themselves into their host communities through the learning of languages and cultures.
The NYSC Director-General (DG), Major General Shuaibu Ibrahim, handed down this advice during the occasion held at the state orientation camp in Umunna in Bende LGA of the state.
Represented by the Abia State Coordinator, Mr Jingi Denis, the DG said: “I urge you to integrate into your host communities through the learning of their languages and cultures.
“Furthermore, you should devote time to identify the felt needs of the communities, and initiate personal and group Community Development Service projects that will uplift their living standards.
“Accordingly, the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme has been carefully designed to equip you for self-employment and wealth creation.
