Imo guber: Gov Uzodimma slashes rents for traders

Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has slashed rents for both luck-up and open shops owned by traders in the state to ease their business operations.

The President of Imo State Amalgamated Marketers and Traders Association (ISAMATA), Emmanuel Eze Anochie, disclosed this on Tuesday when he took the Governor Hope Uzodimma’s campaign train to the Naze Cluster market and the Hausa traders in Owerri West LGA of the state alongside his executive members.

He said that following the slashing, traders at the market will have a discount of N250,000 from N1.8m for luck-up shops while another discount of N50,000 will be taken away from N250,000 rent paid for Free Zone open shops.

The president appealed to the traders to reciprocate the Governor’s gesture by coming out enmasse to cast their votes for Governor Uzodimma to enable him to continue in office and do more good things for the traders in the markets.

He reminded them that what they owe to the Governor is to demonstrate their larger support by trooping out on the November 11 election to votes for him, adding that their support to the Governor means a lot to him.

Eze Anochie admonished the traders not to panic or be worried, assuring that after the November election, they will certainly enjoy the government’s presence in the market.

For the Hausa traders, the Governor through the ISAMATA President, made a cash donation of N500,000 for the sand filling of their market environment to make it habitable for traders while he enjoined them to give their votes to Governor Hope Uzodimma who is the candidate of APC in the state.

In a unanimous speech, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Networking, Hon. Chantel Adanna Chinyere Onwzuruike, Chairman, Imo International Modern Market Cluster, Naze, Hon. Uchenna Anaege (Oil Money), Secretary, ISAMATA, Don- Chris Okere, Women Leader, ISAMATA, Onyinyechi Ozurumba and Chairman, Cluster, Naze, Hausa Market, Alhaji Abdulahi Abdusalam also urged both the Housa and Igbo traders to vote for Governor Hope Uzodimma, assuring them that they will not lose anything if he wins.

Welcoming the campaign train to their market, the  chairman, Cluster Naze, Hausa Market, Alhaji Abdulahi Abdusalam, assured ISAMATA that on November 11, Hausa traders at Naze Cluster Market will vote overwhelmingly for Uzodimma to enable his reelection.

He said: “We are happy with Governor Hope Uzodimma because he is doing well. We want the Governor to work on our market and roads when he is reelected. We are giving him solid support. We love him dearly and we will not compromise”.
