The leadership of the newly registered Action Democratic Party (ADP), on Friday x-rayed the ongoing quit notices being issued out by the various ethnic groups in the Country against each other ahead of October 1st this year and declared that the ugly development was the reflection of the bad leadership in the country.
Speaking with Newsmen in Abuja on Friday shortly after the Party received its Certificate of Registration from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), its National Chairman, Engr Y.Y. Sani stated that the Party was floated to rescue the Nation from total collapse from the hands of confused and spent politicians who no longer have any good thing to offer the Nation.
This came just as Sani named Chief Suara Alani Bankole, the father of a one-time Speaker of the House Representatives, Rt Hon. Dimeji Bankole, as the pioneer Chairman Board of Trustee, BOT, of the Party, saying that “Chief S.O.A Bankole was picked for the position based on his wealth of experience in the nation’s politics, spanning pre and post-independence”.
According to Sani, “We are on a rescue mission, Nigeria is at the crossroad today, there is confusion everywhere, lawlessness, impunity, kidnapping, senseless killings, hi-tech crimes, and recently various ethnic groups are issuing quit notices to one another in the 21st century, to us in ADP, it is the reflection of bad leadership in the country which we cannot allow to continue as usual in the interest of the coming generations.”
“Even within a family, if the head of the family is behaving one kind, the members of that family will revolt, same is happening in Nigeria today, all these negative happenings in the polity today especially the recent quit notices is the reflection of the bad leadership of the ruling Party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), and we are out to put an end to all these and restore the peoples’ hope for a united Nigeria through good governance.”
While appealing to Nigerians of voting ages to come on board for the rescue mission, Sani said, “Your Party, the Action Democratic Party (ADP), is here, it is your party platform, come and take full ownership of it, ADP is a Party of necessity, a Party borne out genuine desire to make Nigeria secure, stable and egalitarian, a country where democracy and rule of law shall reign.”
“Our mission is to provide a responsive leadership that will be transparent and accountable to the people.”
Sani declared that the Party would spring surprises in all the future elections in the Country from the coming governorship elections in Anambra, Osun, Ekiti states to the 2019 general elections based on its general acceptance in all the states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja
“Wait and see, ADP is party to beat from now, people have been waiting for its final registration by the INEC, this has happened and today we have collected our certificate of registration as a full-fledged political party, from now on we are going all out to convince Nigeria that we the alternative to these existing political parties,” he declared.
The interim National Secretary of the Party, Dr James Okoroma later presented the photocopies of the Certificate of Registration of the Party issued by INEC to all the states Chairmen of the Party with a directive to go down to the towns and villages in their states for mass mobilization of new members.
