FORMER Minister of Aviation, Mr Femi Fani-Kayode, has avowed support for Ahmed Makarfi as the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), expressing belief that the Supreme Court would affirm Makarfi’s chairmanship.
Last week, an Appeal Court judgement had reinstated Ali-Modu Sheriff as chairman of the PDP.
Fani-Kayode, in a statement, chided as shameful and naïve calls in some quarters for the recognition of Sheriff as PDP national chairman, stating that “Sheriff is nothing but a traitor who is biting the fingers that fed him.”
Apart from declaring support for Makarfi, Fani-Kayode also lauded Ekiti State governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose and his Rivers State counterpart, Mr Nyesom Wike, for proving their worth and defending their respective states.
“I stand with Ahmed Makarfi and our caretaker committee and unless and until the Supreme Court says no, he remains our national chairman.
“Those that say they will work with Sheriff are misguided and naive.”
