Akanbi made the denial while briefing newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday.
Saraki had on Tuesday read a letter announcing defection of 15 lawmakers including Akanbi.
The denial by Akanbi officially brought the number of lawmakers that defected to 14.
According to Akanbi:”initially, today my name was wrongly mentioned in the list of the people that defected to PDP.
“But point of order was raised, I was able to clear my name that I have never been part of defection from APC to PDP.

“I remain a bonafide member of APC and you notice, the Votes and Proceedings of Tuesday, 24 July 2018 and my name was not listed on the list of defectors.
“I started my career in 1989-90 as a member of All Peoples Party (APP), to SDP, to Afenifere to NADECO to AC and from AC to ACN and then to APC.
“I remain a bonafide, committed and unrepentant member of APC,” Akanbi said.
Asked why he thought the error happened during plenary, the lawmaker said; “there is a rumour when you have ambition, either declared or undeclared ambition.
“That you have crisis in your state with your governor so they assume that having crisis with your governor automatically you leave your party
“In Oyo, we don’t have crisis with my governor, Abiola Ajimobi.
“Ajimobi is the leader of the party in the state and I remain his associate and very close ally.
“In my state, we strongly believe that if there is any crisis in the party we find a way to solve it,” he said.
Akanbi had earlier in plenary attempted to raise a point of order on his supposed defection, but was asked to exercise patience for other matters to be treated.
However, his matter was not attended to before the end of plenary, compelling him to make his position known at the briefing.
