Hon. Muhammad Sani Gambo, the second runner-up in the August 31st PDP Congress, says he remains the duly elected Kogi State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party.
Hon. Muhammad Sani Gambo made the disclosure on Tuesday while reacting to the High Court Lokoja ruling that declared the arrest of Enemona Anyebe and ordered another election.
He said he is the chief beneficiary of the judgement, as the judgement never faulted the election, particularly as the court declared that Enemona Anyebe was not supposed to be a contestant in the election.
Hon. Muhammad said while he was not declared Chairman partly because he was not a joiner in the suit, he is, however, in the Federal High Court Lokoja, where he has asked that he should be declared Chairman.
He said now that it has been made clear by the court that Enemona Anyebe was not a contestant, as the second runner-up, he is the duly elected Chairman of the Party.
He also frowned at the call for another election in 45 days, saying the prayer for another election was not in the originating summons other than contempt.
Hon. Muhammad called on his supporters and all the members of the PDP in the state to remain calm, pointing out that the Federal High Court will do the needful and declare him as the duly elected Chairman of the State PDP.
Justice Yahaya Adamu, of High Court 5 Lokoja, in the suit brought before it between John Ojodale vs PDP and 1 other in suit no. HC/Okp/8/2024, ordered an arrest and a fresh election within 45 days to fill the vacancy of the PDP Chairman, pointing out that Enemona Anyebe was not qualified to have contested as he had been barred by a contempt ruling.
