Popular Nigerian disc jockey, Florence Otedola, professionally known as DJ Cuppy, has disclosed that she has a deep desire to become a full-time backup singer for Afrobeat sensation, Ahmed Ololade, better known as Asake.
The daughter of Nigerian business mogul, Femi Otedola, met Asake for the first time recently at a show where she was DJing.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday to share a video from the meeting, the excited DJ said that meeting the ‘Lonely at the top’ crooner gave her the opportunity to discuss her longtime dream of becoming his backup singer with him.
Captioning the video of the meeting, she wrote, “Hadn’t met @AsakeMusik in real life until this surprise 🫶🏾. I was finally able to discuss my deep desire and career development of becoming his full-time backup singer 🎶🧁 #CuppyOnAMission #MrsMoney.
The post has, however, continued to stir reactions from X users who took to the comments section to share their reactions to the development.
Shocked by the DJ’s desire to become a backup singer for Asake, @theholu tweeted, “Backup what?”
