Due details of their adoption are scanty, but the two policemen killed were said to be security escorts to the Canadians.
An eyewitness told the Nigerian Tribune correspondent that the two expatriates have gone to inspect a project in Kafanchan when the tragedy occurred.
A source who pleaded for anonymity said the Canadians and the two police guards had left Kafanchan heading to Abuja through Kagarko when they were ambushed by the gunmen.
“The came to Kafanchan to see a project, but on their way back, they were ambushed by gunmen who opened fire on them.
“The two policemen were killed while the Canadians were abducted” the source maintained.
All efforts to get the reaction of the Kaduna state police’s spokesman command ASP Muktar Husseini Aliyu proved abortive as he did not respond to the call put to him by our correspondent.
