Ishaku who was nominated unopposed as a sole candidature of the party in the State pooled 1928 votes of delegates who converge in Jalingo Taraba State capital for the primary election.
The primary election was conducted today at Jolly Nyame Stadium Jalingo.
The chairman of the electoral committee sent to the State to conduct the primary election and the former Governor of Kogi State, Cap. Idris Wada, while making the election declaration said 2000 delegates were accredited for the primary election.
Wada while announcing the election also said 1928 were counted as valid vote while the remaining votes were invalid, he, therefore, returned Ishaku as the PDP governorship candidate in Taraba State.

Responding to the victory, the Governor of Taraba State, Darius Ishaku and the PDP governorship candidate in Taraba State appreciate PDP Taraba State chapter for giving him the mandate to run once again for the forthcoming governorship election in 2019.
Ishaku said democracy can only be achieved in Nigeria when the voice of the people is held and respected.
He promises more meaningful projects that would transform the State if finally elected in the 2019 general election.
The governor also uses the occasion to call on Nigerians nationwide to come together to vote out the ruling APC government come 2019 general election.
