Gemsbok Group has announced the launch of its generative artificial intelligence (AI) platform, called GemsbokGPT, which is already available to African users.
Nigerian South African-based CEO of Gemsbok Group, Charles Awuzie, made this known through virtual communications with newsmen on Monday.
Awuzie noted that Gemsbok Group is a conglomerate with business operations in information technology, energy, electronics, and real estate and is also working towards launching electric cars.
He stated that Gemsbok’s passion for making emerging cutting-edge technologies available to the average African led to the development of GemsbokGPT.
According to him, GemsbokGPT − a collection of various AI functions integrated into one platform − was designed with Africa in mind.
He said GemsbokGPT is loaded with AI Chatbots, including the Immigration Chatbot called Jakpa AI and the Business Coach Chatbot called Aliko DangoBot, named after Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote.
“GemsbokGPT is designed to address a wide range of problems by leveraging its diverse set of AI functions,” he said. “The platform’s capabilities span various domains, making it versatile in solving different challenges.”
Awuzie stated that with GemsbokGPT, users can transcribe audio to text, engage in conversational dialogue with expert AI agents, write computer codes, generate unique images, and create various types of written content such as articles, blogs, adverts, product descriptions, social media content, etc.
He added that another striking feature of GemsbokGPT is the Affiliate Programme, which empowers users to earn a commission per new user introduced by them – which is their way of incentivising the adoption of technology in Africa.
Awuzie noted that thousands of Nigerians and other Africans have already joined GemsbokGPT within a few days of its launch, indicating that the platform is excellent for the African market.
“We are intentionally affordable. Our pricing is tailored for the African market,” he said. “We have succeeded in packaging a collection of various AI solutions on one platform for only $7 per month.”
Speaking on competition with other AI platforms in the African and global markets, he said they are not in competition with any AI brand because GemsbokGPT brings together all the unique offerings of other major brands on a single platform.
“So, we are a meeting point for the solutions other brands offer. This is what is driving our massive adoption,” he added.
