Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir has been commended for using his political experience in seeing that the leadership crisis that engulfed the State House of Assembly at the inauguration in June was amicably resolved politically resolved without the intervention of external forces.
The commendation was made by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila during a courtesy call on the Governor on Monday at the EXCO Chambers of the Government House in Bauchi.
Femi Gbajabiamila expressed happiness that the leadership crisis was handled maturely by the Governor using his wealth of political experience as a one-time member of the NASS as a Senator saying that what the country needs is such a move in order to develop and grow democratic values.

The Speaker added that considering the cosmopolitan nature of the country’s democracy, amicable relationships is what is required in order to ensure that people feel they are part of governance irrespective of political affiliations.
He also commended the Governor for accommodating everyone in his administration pointing out particularly the Manu Soro family who have supporters in the two major political parties in the country urging him to uphold such in order to move the country forward positively assuring that the political model of Bauchi State will be copied by others.
Femi Gbajabiamila assured the Governor of the support of the House of Representatives to his administration for the economic and political advancement of the state stressing the need for the Governor to work in synergy with members of the State Assembly for the state to overcome some of its challenges.
The Speaker then explained that his delegation was in the state for a condolence visit over the death of Alhaji Manu Soro, father of the member representing Ganjuwa-Darazo Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Alhaji Mansur Manu Soro.
In his response, Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir thanked the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila for the role he played in ensuring that the leadership crisis in the State Assembly was resolved amicably without heating up the polity in the state.
Bala Mohammed also commended the leadership quality of Femi Gbajabiamila since his election as the Speaker of the House of Representatives saying that it has stabilised democratic values in the country urging him to keep it up in tandem with the best world practice.
The Governor also assured the Speaker of the determination of the present administration in the state led by the PDP to work with members of the State House of Assembly who are APC majority regardless of their political differences as part of efforts to block infrastructural gap in the state.
While highlighting some of the ecological problems facing the state, the Governor solicited for the support of the House of Representatives in tackling the problem acknowledging that already some monetary intervention has come from the Federal Government adding however that more is needed.
While pointing out that the state is becoming overpopulated due to the influx of people from neighbouring states that are ravaged by insurgency, the Governor assured that his administration will continue to sustain the peace in the state.
Bala Mohammed then used the medium to appeal to the House of Representatives to consider Bauchi State in its developmental projects due to the population of the state.
